Time tests

Today, in sunshine and heavy showers, they’re carrying out The Time Tests (yes, I know they’re called Qualifying, but to all intents and purposes it’s just time tests -who goes the fastest- and the last one has the added complication of fuel testing/saving fuel for the race, so that ‘the one who goes fastest’ may not necessarily win the whole race, accidents, and safety cars, and running into people at red lights aside!) . This is all happening whilst I was trying to do some reading about predicted grades (if you must know) in the garden. Now the good thing about this is that reading in the garden can’t happen in the rain, but the tests are much more interesting (as are the actual F1 races) when it rains; so I have the ideal excuse to come in from doing some work at the weekend, to watch the telly with Better Half!

Better Half is a complete petrol head, and has even spent an evening propping up the bar with Michael Schumacher! I’m not really a ‘petrol head’, but I do like to watch the actual race – we’ll both be in front of the TV tomorrow for the race at Silverstone, although we’ll also be fitting in family time (Cowley Festival with The Boy) and cultural, quality couple time (Carmina Burana at the Cheltenham Music Festival) – we’re very well-rounded people! Flumps in fact!

Have a good weekend yourselves!
