Things I wonder about

Today I described myself as ‘decimated’ in my Facebook status and The Man questioned my use of decimate. Now, as “Google is our friend”, I googled for a definition:

Decimate

1. To take the tenth part of; to tithe.

2. To select by lot and punish with death every tenth man of; as, to decimate a regiment as a punishment for mutiny.

3. To destroy a considerable part of; as, to decimate an army in battle; to decimate a people by disease.

Now, I wasn’t feeling well this morning, but I hadn’t been cut into ten pieces, or been selected to die (I don’t think, you may have to ask ‘Him Up There’ for confirmation though). I did, however, feel as though a considerable part of me had been destroyed (mainly my brain), so I think I can safely conclude that I was decimated this morning.

The good news is that now I’m feeling ‘renewed’ a la numero quatre:

Renew
1. To make new or as if new again; restore: renewed the antique chair.
2. To take up again; resume: renew an old friendship; renewed the argument.
3. To repeat so as to reaffirm: renew a promise.
4. To regain or restore the physical or mental vigor of; revive: I renewed my spirits in the country air.
4. To arrange for the extension of: renew a contract; renew a magazine subscription. 5. To arrange to extend the loan of: renewed the library books before they were overdue.
6. To replenish: renewed the water in the humidifier.
7. To bring into being again; reestablish.

Other things I wonder about? Well, there’s Gravitational Collapse, but I’ll need a little longer to find out all about that, from The Man most likely, and then I’ll let you know! OK?

And then there’s the question: is there life out there? Another biggie that one!

Where are all the people going on the M5?
